Zen 24 Hydro-dynamic performance
There is a great difference in sailboat performance. Some may look similar, but they all have different sailing characteristics.
Some sailboats are fast or slow, stable or unsteady at the helm, tender or stiff and these characteristics become most evident in heavy conditions.
The Zen 24 realizes this integration with a new approach to hydro-dynamic hull design. As a result you feel smooth and easy sailing and you will enjoy sailing the Zen 24!

- Weather helm and the hydrodynamic advantage
- Stability characteristics of the Zen 24 compared with other hull types
[…] big. Boat speed is a function of 1. Sail area/Stability, 2.Displacement/Water line length and 3.hull form. Naval architects always try to establish a balance between those factors. The hull form is […]
We are prospecting right now for a sail boat and the ZEN seems appealing. A few questions: The motor drive is reported as powerful – how does that relate in horsepower? How would the ZEN handle cold weather as for Nova Scotia winters? Any specifics as for a galley? Appreciate your input.

Thank you
Joe,
The Thoosa 5000 motor drive, 5 Kw model installed in the Zen 24 demo boat is related to 8 to 12 in horsepower.

The cold weather would not affect anything with the motor performance. But battary banks might be reduced in some performance.
A galley is not installed in the demo boat. We have a fiberglass made galley with a sink and storm ginbal stove set as an optional item.
